French rosewood single door vitrine with carved cartouche c.1870

This single door vitrine was crafted in France c.1870.

Made from luxurious rosewood, this display cabinet is wonderful quality and features a single original glazed door with original keys, and 4 inner wooden shelves which come beautifully lined and fringed in a rich burgundy fabrication.

Crossbanded panels are a real standout on this piece as it adds interest and elegance. These are carried through from the sides to the front. Further details include fluted panels either side of the door. The grand statement though, is definitely the stunning carved cartouche to the top of the cabinet. This is flanked by two side finials crowning the piece.

A wonderful quality cabinet, perfect for storing much loved treasures or books.
