A superb example of fine French cabinetmaking from the late 19th century, this elegant satinwood and walnut tall chest of drawers dates to around 1870 and offers both impressive storage and classic beauty.
Featuring eight generously proportioned drawers, all beautifully oak-lined, the chest displays wonderfully figured satinwood drawer fronts framed by rich walnut mouldings. Each drawer is adorned with original gilt bronze handles of refined design, complementing the warm tones and grain of the timber.
The architectural form is enhanced by finely reeded side pillars, while the chest stands proudly on turned bun feet. Drawers run beautifully and the chest is in fantastic condition.
