Scottish mahogany longcase clock with silvered dial by Rob Green Edinburgh c.1800

Introducing this wonderful Early 19th century Scottish mahogany longcase clock by maker Robert Green.

Standing at a height of 223cm, this clock would make quite the feature in a living room or hallway.

The case is crafted from warm flame mahogany and features fine satinwood string inlays. two sets of turned and fluted columns flanking the sides, brass mounts and hardware including a decorative crowning finial, flanked by swan neck scroll over blind fretwork panels to the top of the clock face.

The clock face features an ornately decorated silvered dial, with the maker’s name crowning the top, and botanical patterned embellishments etched around the Roman numerals. There is also a smaller seconds dial. The hands are very pretty indeed, giving the clock a refined touch.

The movement is 8 day, and the clock plays a lovely chime. Furthermore, it has a beautifully hand painted pendulum.
