15/06/202619th century English walnut tapestry fire screen c.1870
$4,950.00
This superb tapestry fire screen was crafted in England circa 1870.
Of beautifully grand scale, it has been made with a great deal of attention to detail both in the woodwork and artistry of the tapestry. The structure itself is made from walnut, and has been gracefully carved all the way down to the three splayed feet. It has carved rosettes surrounding the frame.
An inner gilt rim wonderfully frames the tapestry which is protected by glass. The tapestry itself consists of a beautiful spray of roses and foliage in soft pinks, ivory, and shades of green, with not a stitch out of place.
This is an exquisite example of fine Victorian tapestry and craftsmanship. The new owner will not be disappointed.
