It’s not often we get superb chests like this one. What a delight to be a part of its story.
This wonderful 7 drawer chest bridges the gap beautifully between Georgian and William IV styles by gracing us with its understated elegance and simplicity, whilst still displaying attractive and refined detail.
Made with a curved bow front, the chest has original turned knobs and brass escutcheons. Refined twists flank both sides of the chest which add an interesting feature. These are topped with gorgeous carved acanthus leaf details which rest under the circular ‘corners’ of the chest. A wonderful detail.
The chest features 7 drawers – 2 half width and the rest full width, with the bottom drawers deeper for storing larger items such as blankets.
The chest rests on beautifully turned short legs to the front, which almost look like upside down finials – this is the level of detail present. The back has bracket feet, giving a nod to the Georgian style.
A beautifully presented chest which would happily grace any bedroom – traditional or modern, it goes with both.
Expect this one to go quickly.
