This exquisite framed plaque by Royal Worcester is an incredible piece for the finest collector.
Crafted by renowned maker Thomas John Bott in 1886, the piece is entitled ‘Night’. The rectangular plaque features a cobalt blue background, finely decorated with ink and white enamel with a lightly draped female figure amidst clouds as a personification of “night” which has been inscribed and signed on the piece.
It is mounted in an antique ebonised and gilt frame measuring 21.5 x 31.5cm. The visible artwork is 12 x 22cm.
There is one restored crack to the upper right of the panel (extending from the right edge toward the sceptre).
This piece can be viewed in our Bendigo store and will also be at the AAADA Sydney Fair 7-10 November 2024.
