This stunning early tea caddy was crafted during the Georgian period, c.1800. The box is primarily crafted from burr yew, which gives the box a beautiful warmth and character.
It features an incredible seashell design satinwood inlay to the top and the front of the box. The lid is domed, and the edges are also inlaid with satinwood. The escutcheon is ivory.
The box opens to reveal two lidded sections or compartments which would have been used for storing different teas. Nowadays the box can be used to store anything you like!
