This classical plate was hand painted by Enoch Doe circa 1830.
The plate features a scene of ‘Cupid and the Nymph’ in bold colours with a burgundy gilt borderin the manner of William Hilton Jr. The piece is inscribed by the Artist and signed underside by E. Doe Worcester with an impressed factory mark.
The plate is 22cm in diameter.
There is minor wear of gilding to border and rim and a small area of loss to the coloured background. A hairline crack is present to the rim and small scratches in places.
