19th century 9ct engraved mourning ring c.1848

This mid 19th century ring was crafted circa 1848 from 9ct gold.

It features a twist design and has been engraved with a decorative filigree pattern to the outside. It was crafted by W.G Munnings and is engraved “25 August 1848, 50 years” on the inside. The ring has hair woven tightly and threaded through the ring openings, making this a rare 19th century antique jewellery collector’s piece.
