From the French Napoleon III period, comes this characterful wall clock crafted in the mid 19th century.
Named an “oeil de boeuf” clock which translates to “bull’s eye”, these pieces are synonymous due to the small clock face which is meant to resemble small oval windows which were crafted during the Baroque period.
The clock features a lovely brass rimmed dial with handpainted decoration, blue enamelled roman numerals, and pretty forged hands. It has wonderful mother of pearl inlays to the outer sides which nestle atop wooden inlays. The outer casing is an ebonised wood.
This clock chimes and is working well.
