18th century fruitwood dome top box c.1780

This humble, early dome top box hails from the 18th century.

Crafted from a light coloured fruitwood, this was made circa 1780 and features a steel handle, and a mother of pearl escutcheon and top badge. It has darker wood string inlays to the edges of the box.
